Did I do good?? I just got me a Fender Roadworn Strat in Olympic white from my local GC for $599 out the door with deluxe gig bag. Its not used or a blemished item, it is a spanking new guitar. I was there to get me some pack of strings during my lunch break and went back to work with my pack of strings and a new guitar

thanks Mr. Bill. Yes, I'm enjoying my new guitar. I think the price I paid for should be the going price on these roadworns IMHO, specially now with the economy being so bad. Companies should reduce prices to help stimulate people to spend and get the economy going. I wasn't going buy a new guitar, but the price was just right so I went for it. Take a hint Fender!!!

That was the forth of July sale?! You didn't have to haggle with the manager for three hours? There was nothing major wrong with the guitar? Man, I'm going to be the first one through the door next year!

Nope, no haggle with the manager and the guitar plays great!! No fretting out , fret sprouts or any annoying fret buzzing. I played three road worns, a 50s two tone sunburst, a 60s three tone sunburst and this 60s olympic white. I found the white to play and sounded the best. The guitar setup was surprisingly good off the rack.

I got the Blonde Tele Road Worn for the same price at Hollywood GC.

From the looks of your tax rate did you get it at Hollywood?

50s road worn strats both colors are 599 shipped (no tax in most states) from Musicians Friend.

Only the 50s 2 Tone Tele is on sale for 599

I told my main sales guy a week before the July 4 sale that MF was discounting the Road Worns to 599 but not the blonde tele that I wanted. He just matched the price for the blonde.

This guy got the 60s RW (all have the same pickups) and probably just asked his guy if he could do it.

GC is not losing money at 599 or even at 550 which means cost on these are any where from 450 to 500. Most likely 500 and they only made 50 on the 599 sale. But sales are slow at GC right now and at the sister company Musicians Friend.

Guitar Economic Stimulus: Reduced to the BONE prices!!

Like these I got recently:

AVRI 62 Jazzmaster 999
Jaguar HH Hardtail made in japan 299
Telecaster (MIM) Deluxe Blackout 299
Road Worn 50s strat 2 tone and Blonde Ash Tele 599
Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic 199

And the hits just keep on comin'

You got a deal. Although the Road Worn is not my favorite series, congrats on your new guitar.

NOOOOOOO!!! When does this sale end? (This is too tempting... And I just barely have the money... The GAS... It's... killing... me...)

EDIT: Just checked and they're back to normal pricing. That's a good thing since I'm trying to safe my money. Which is very hard to do in a world filled with guitars.

MF has the RW at regular price on thier site. The 599 deal is a "call in phone sale". You must place your order by phone to get the 599 deal. Your local GC can match that price, just ask the sales man to call MF and verify the 599 deal which ends on July 26. Get them while you can at this low price, actually I think the 599 price is a fair price and should be the regular price for the RW IMHO.

Nope, I got mine at Sherman Oaks. The 9.75 sales tax is throughout the Los Angeles Area if not the whole state of California.

You made a killing, man. Nice. Pretty guitar, too.

How do you like those Tex Mex pups?
