"K" Serial Number and Made in the U.S.A.

Thinking about purchasing what appears to be a 1990 Made in U.S.A. strat with a "K" serial number in the headstock. I could find no information of any authority on the subject. Any info would be helpful.

The, "K" plus six digits serial numbers were put on 1990 to 1991 Japanese made Fenders. The American made Fenders' serial numbers would start with an, "N" if it was made in the 90s.

Look up info on the "I" serial number guitars from the same period, 1989-1990, a lot of confusing/conflicting stories. There are people who swear they have US parts, but were assembled and sold in Japan. I've not seen enough pictures of them to fully believe the stories. I think I have heard some try to lump some "K" serial number guitars as being just like these US/Japan guitars.
