I want to remove the hum bucker in my highway1 and put in a single coil pup. Will this have any ill effect on my guitar? Will it be the same as if I bought it setup from the factory sss? What do I need to do this?

It won't hurt your guitar at all. The guitar is routed out for either a humbucker or a single coil. All you need to do is have a single coil installed either by yourself or a guitar tech. You'll need a new pickguard. It's actually pretty simple.

I did it. It is a $15 pickguard, and a $20 Alnico 3 pickup on eBay from that "Stratosphere" guy. Get the one with the yellow and black leads. Soldering is easy too. Just remember, use fresh solder and hold the tip on the connection until it is good and melted. Don't move the wires when it cooling.

YOU CAN DO IT!
