I have decided, in the end, NOT to go noiseless, but to get a neck pickup and a bridge pickup, and then shield the cavities. I am getting them custom wound by Aaron Campbell:

My neck pickup is based his Experience pickup, from Hendrix's early sounds, only a touch warmer, and the bridge is based on a pre-CBS pickup only with plain enamel.

Check him out, he will custom wind a pickup for you, a single strat pickup being 42 bucks, and a tele single being 50 bucks.

I can't wait :D
