After spending that kind of money on an American strat, why wouldnt you have just bought an Ibanez or similar guitar with humbuckers already set up for that type of sound?

I'm glad you're happy with your new pickups and that you're wiring job was a success!

About the 500K pots, the wiring would be the same as the 250K.

The 500K pot will not remove itself on '10' from the circuit like the 250K No-load pot does. Tone wise, you will not lose anything of significance if you switch to the 500K pot. Rather, you will hear a more consistent clarity.

I´ve already got an ibanez, doesnt like the fingerboard very much.

I´m looking for my kind of sound and to get there it has to be single coils in the picture. Ok shure my new pups has a little more bas but for me I cant find the distinct tone in a humbucker.

And using a 500K volume/tone control will open up the top end I think.

I agree, the necks on the newer strats are quite nice.
