Who makes a HB pickup that is made with the mounting like a Fender (2 screws one one end, one screw on the other)?

I want to change the Diamondback HB in my Mahogany Sp. Deluxe Strat, but Duncans and Dimarzios have only the one screw on either end of the pickup.

Thanks, bob

None that I can find...I've been looking for a while. A lot of manufacturers' mounting plates have 3 holes on each side but they only tap the middle hole for mounting, and I've also heard that the outer holes don't line up with the Fender pickguard holes anyway.

So I think we are left with 2 options...drill a hole in the current pickguard between the two bass side holes, OR get a new pickguard altogether.

Let me know if you come up with any other ideas.

I thought about a new pickguard. It's a new guitar , so I don't want to drill.

I just got a reply from DImarzio - no dice.

I also have an email in to Seymour Duncan. We shall see..........

Seymour Duncan is the one that told me they don't tap the outer two holes on the mounting plates, so I don't think those will work with the Fender pickguard since it has 2 holes on the bass side as mentioned above.

Invader, if you did get it to work without modifying your pickguard please let us know how...I would love to change out my HB.

will do. One thing I may do is spin the pup around so the screw poles are in front. That helps a little when I have done it before.

Another thing is to match the radius of the screw poles to the strings. You'd need something to measure from the pole to the string. But that does help.

I just got a word from Mark Semple with SD. I didn't realize a TB-4 had a 6 hole plate. I would rather just tap the holes on one of those, even if it the exact placement of holes is off a tad, than to drill a hole in my pickguard.

I'll let you know what size the tap is when he lets me know.

The thread size is 3/48". Never heard of that size thread. But that's what he said

Hmmm...what the hell is 3/48"? I guess you could drill it to a more coventional size and then tap it?

Good luck...let us know how it goes.

Idunno. I never saw threads with an inch symbol after it.

OK it's supposed to be written 3-48. http://www.ferreestools.com/charts_&_data.htm

Anyway, you could just drill it bigger like you said
