A friend of mine has a hardtail but he got body refinished ..don't know why..
To me it looks like a 76.. If I can recall the serial On the 3 screw plate started with 5x6x .. No letters ...

So the real question is would the new finish effect the sound or value ??

Not the sound but more likely the value.

I have a couple questions. You say it has already been refinished? If that is so, it will have less resale value than original paint.

Are you asking if the value will change if it is refinished again? If so, I think not really, depending on the quality of the next refinish. it should only lower its value if the next refinish is terrible.

For collectors, there is only original, and non original. This is the biggest criteria for collector value. then after that the quality of what kind of shape it is in will move the price up and down.

IMO the paint won't affect the sound, at least not in anyway that a person can hear.Unless it is finished in 2" s of concrete or something like that.
