Thanks CV... this is my first guitar mod project involving more than just dropping in some after market pickups, so I know just enough to be dangerous! Didn't realize the same capacitor will have different effects on different pickups. I grabbed the Sprague "Orange Drop" .022mfd cap simply because it seemed to be one most raved about online for its tone.

The EJ p'ups do have a nice tone worth tweeking into what I'm looking for.

I guess the whole tone quest thing is hit-n-miss, and now I can see it has a trickle-down/ripple effect. Starts with finding the right axe & amp recipe, then pickups... and now I'm down to swapping little capacitors! At least they are cheap & easy to swap out, eh?
