or both? Been looking at a 60th Anniversary locally. Went out to Ebay to see what the market is asking. they had one that stated it was American made. It appears that they were MIM only. I defer to the experts. If I can get the seller in line with the ebay prices I think I would be getting a good guitar for the money. Plus I really like that blizzard Pearl.

I thought every strat from 2006 was a 60th anniversary. Like the 50th anniversary ones from 96 and 04.

I've seen both MIM and MIA models.

I think all the Strats for 2006 (MIM and MIA) had the 60th Anniversary medallion in the headstock. They also had special 60th Anniversary Edition ones with an engraved neck plate, special color, different pickups, etc.

As a matter of fact, check out the wallpapers. They site has some pics.

The one I'm looking at is definately a MIM. But I think it's the "Edition" with the fancy paint and the hotter pick ups.

Here's a pic of my 60th MIM Stratocaster.

Image

True for the headstock medaillon and the engraved neckplate. I don't remember if it came with Texmex or Texas special but definitely not the standard pups. Not that there's anything wrong with the standard pups, it was the Fender way to juice it up for this occasion. The color also was special, Blizzard Pearl for the MIM's, very cool. Not every Strat from this year was an official 60th, just those that came from that special bundle. The MIA were Sunburst 3 tones if I remember correctly. Good luck with your choice. :)

 The finger prints are part of my territorial marking. Seriously, the headphone Vox amp works very well for an instant feedback during my practice time. I hate to play with headphones but at one A.M. they are my best friends. It is the only time I use it, when I feel like practicing late. They have three versions of that amp, Blues, Rock and Metal. Great sound.

See ya.
