Bought all the parts that were made in theU.S. and it cost me a little over 950. Mine is all trimmed in gold. Sounds sweet though. Double Fat in a Honey Blonde finish. Might Mite pickups.

I bought a new Fender Deluxe MIM and payed about 800 euro (1150 dollar). And well, then I completely rebuilt it. Everything got replaced except the body. And I put about 700 euro (992,5 dollar) in it and now I got one awesome guitar. Some parts are Fender, some not. But with all the things I took out of the guitar I'm just gonna build a new guitar. Shame to put all those parts to waste.

Making a Strat is so much fun. I've made a few and had real good luck with them. Here's one of them I made from mostly Warmoth parts...

I built a home built a copy of a '62 modified-Strat with Rosewood fret board for about a $1K.

Here is a rundown of parts:
5 lbs Warmoth Alder body (stained by me). $160
"Clapton" style Warmoth neck with jumbo frets $157
Fender Locking tuning keys $58
vintage Fender bridge $47
tortisshell pickguard $25
Fender Texas Special Pickups $120
and mis parts approx $40
The work by a luthier $370

Goto www.warmoth.com

I just had an Andy Summers Tele built for about the same price:

Tele maple neck $157
'62 Tele Custom (3-color SB) w/white binding $300
vintage tuning keys $50
Humbucker neck pup $100
Single coil bridge pup $40
six saddle brass bridge $40-$60
3ply pickguard $30
Mis parts approx $30
work $370

I love both of these guitars. Of all of my Strats (and I own many) the home built is everyone's favorite.

I hope this information helps.

I've been planning on putting '65 or '62 RI body together with a '07 Highway 1 neck....... anyone know if these would fit each other??
