I own a 93 strat ultra and don't really want to be taking out all the time. So I decided to make my self a clone with parts. Well in doing so I made a few changes, I was not always to happy with the red dually but loved the fatness of the neck blue. So a light bulb comes on, hey how about a blue dually in the brigde. I could not find one, they had all kinds of combo duallys exept that, so I bought 2 blues and had my local shop here in Orlando, Guitar Factory do the work. I ended up with a Blue in the neck, a Gold in the middle, and Dually Blue in the bridge. One tone controls the neck and one the bridge, normal 5 way switching unlike the Ultra. The Blue Dually is amazing, from clean to heavy tones it handles all. Try it you'll be surprised.

Hi stratman3: you're right, I'm not finding a Blue/Blue on Lace's website, though that Blue/Gold sounds interesting:

Congrats on your creativity - you could email Lace and see what they say about it. Gotta love those Lace Sensors...

And keep getting those    s !!

Cheers - C

hmm... you know, I think there must be something up with the neck pickup on my '91 ultra. I haven't played that guitar amplified all that much recently, and when I have I almost always use the neck/middle combination... I've always favoured that position. Anyway, when I switched to just the neck pickup on its own it seemed to lose about half its volume -- it sounded terrible, very weak and reedy. It still works fine in conjunction with the middle pickup, though.

I'm glad the "blue dually" is proving to be the business... I was prompted to post because I read your comment and thought to myself that my ultra would sound quite hideous if I were to take the current blue Fender/Lace and whack two of them in the bridge position. I really should look into the problem... in all these years I've never taken a peek under the pickguard!

Hi mondo500: ah-ha! That's a known issue - but I'm not the best person to talk about it. Hopefully someone such as Martian or cvilleira (amongst others) will look in and deal with this one for you...
