I am still banking on that being a Highway One neck. The frets look to be jumbo as well so that would further confirm that.

So far as the body, that's going to be tougher to verify simply by looking. The two post trem throws out the Highway One body idea. It would be consistent with an American Standard of that year. No MIMs I know of offered two post trems, but the newer Squier Standards do. Saddles look legit for an 06 American Standard though I believe. The only way to know for certain would probably be to take the neck off and check the markings. Taking the pickguard off and scoping out the electronics may be somewhat telling as well.

Either way, it looks like it was misrepresented when sold. In the end though, if it plays great and you're happy with it and the price you paid, don't even look further into it and everyone is none the wiser.

Thanks BigJay & Frostymug for the in depth analysis...

At least it sounds better than MIM or MIJ I used before.. Which is a good thing.

Fret is Jumbo 100%. I might unscrew the neck soon and u'll get more picture for sure :) Tweed case is great though.

I very highly doubt it is a MIM as I don't think any MIMs had the two point trem and it would not be a drop in replacement. I'd be more concerned with the potential of it being a Squier or other non-Fender family knock off brand.

Can't help much on the neck pocket as I'm not positive there is any standard in the neck pocket or routing markings. As far as the pickguard, you could look at the pickups and see if there is any indicating marks regarding which models they are. You can also check the pots. First you want them to be full size and not mini pots. If they are standard Fender pots manufactured by CTS there will be a model number followed by a 4 digit date code then CTS. The date code is YYWW so yours should be 06XX or earlier. American Standards are fairly popular guitars so unless there was a pile of pots sitting around it should be close to 06XX, possibly 05XX or less likely 04XX. Later than that would indicate that the pots were made after the guitar was made. Should be somewhere in that range though. I have a couple at my desk right now that are 50666000 0623 CTS, so made in mid-06. I got them around mid-07 though so I guess stock doesn't fly on the loose pots much. At least that's how I've always seen and understood newer pot dating.

As far as any markings in the pocket/routings I'm sure if you see any and post them here someone far more knowledgeable than I am could help on those.

I still think if you're happy with it and the price though it may be better left as is. Prices on used guitars being subjective as they are, if you don't feel ripped off then obviously you weren't! :D

It is a 2006 Highway one neck on a 2000 regular American Body and loaded pickguard. You got took. on it being a American Standard. Then again there was no such thing as a American standard in 2006 so you should have know better. Either return it and file complaint with ebay or play it and have a lesson learned.

Pickguard, pots and wiring look kinda fishy to me.

The numbers under the bar code on the neck should match the numbers under the barcode in the pickup cavity.
