Welcome to the Forum.

Your guitar was made at the
Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2006 - 2007

Probably a Highway 1 Strat.

Can always see if it has the newer two post or six screw vintage style bridge to further remove doubt, but I'd guess Highway One as well. At least the neck.

THanks for pointing it out guys. The owner insist that it's a standard and not a highway one. Now I'm sure nobody's seen a standard with the fat headstock before with 22 fret... Anyway, I'll tell you more after I get the real guitar.

Thanks again

You do not get a G&G case with a Highway 1. You don't even get one with an American Standard. I got one with my James Burton Upgrade model Telecaster.

to make it more complicate. the owner said he sold the old black hardcase and bought a tweed case for this guitar. So originally it came with black hard case (fender) :)

price for this set is 420 pound approx...

Johnny if that guitar was sold as a standard but is a highway1 then you can get out of the transaction. The guitar has clearly been misrepresented as a standard when its a highway. £420 is way too much for a used highway1, you can get new for £30 more.

The big headstock with 70s style decals along with the two string trees that most likely mean non-staggered tuning machines all add up to it most likely being a Highway One neck to me. When you get it, the jumbo frets would be very noticeable as well. Rolled fretboard edges too.

The body is tougher to say from the pics. The matte black finish can be buffed to a gloss, but should still be noticeably different from a standard poly finish. Standard should have the 2 post trem, whereas the H1 will have the 6 screw vintage.

I saw some people here in this board who can look up the serial no. and came up with every detail (not just year/country)..

Do you have to be a fender employee to do that?

Thanks again guys.. very much overwhelmed :D

My post at the top of this thread gave the info from the Guitar Dater Project.

Hi johnmnemonic: very occasionally a kindly Fender employee has looked in and has indeed been able to provide much additional information just from the serial number. Unfortunately, it don't happen often!

Sadly, the rest of us don't have that facility. The Guitar Dater Project is the best we can do.

BTW: took me three attempts to type johnmnemonic. D'OH!

Cheers - C
