I was online a while back and I saw a graffitti Yellow Strat. I think it was a japanese 62 reissue, but it had texas specials. I was wondering what years were these guitars produced, I love the yellow with the tortoise pickguard. Also; is it possible to get Japanes model strats in the US.

the only graffiti Yellow strat I know of was the '87-88 Strat Plus made for Jeff Beck, along with about 20-30 production line ones in that color. sorry bout your luck. not sure if it was made for any other model.

The MIM Deluxe Series Powerhouse strat was also produced in Grafitti Yellow, not sure if its still in production. I think those $@! strats are still in production you can get one from ebay, or if you check out ishibashi and get one used

I think the Tom DeLonge strat also came in Graffiti Yellow and may be a little easier to find/cheaper. Couldn't say for certain what the routing looks like under the guard though since it came with just the invader in the bridge.

The 48th Street Strat from Sam Ash comes in Brilliant Yellow, but I've never seen one in person to be able to say how close it gets to graffiti.

EDIT: forgot to mention, the DeLonge is a hardtail so if that's not your bag, mark it off the list.

The International Colour Series strats from 1981 had a "Monaco Yellow" that looked similar to Graffiti Yellow. I was after one not so long ago, but missed out on it. Still quite grumpy about that. They're not very common, as a lot of ICS strats were refinished after purchase by people wanting more traditional colours. Monaco Yellow is Ferrari Yellow by another name, and it makes you go faster.

I looked at the Delonge strat but it is actually routed for just the humbuckers and I didnt like the 70s style headstock. I have played one of the "brilliant yellow" strats from sam ash and I want more of a vintage neck. I guess I am going to have to build a parts caster to get exactly what I want. An ash bodied Graffiti yellow strat with 7.25" radius Pau Ferro fretboard, 6105 Dunlop frets, Callaham Trem and Dimarzio Area 67/67/61 or CS Fat 50s pickups placed neatly in a tortoise pickguard. Sorry I got a lil carried away. lol :!:
