I believe that the reissues are the top of the American line. Last stop before Custom Shop. I had a '57 but traded it for the '62. Love them both.

AHHHHHH, a 57 AVRI is an excellent choice, I totally love mine and I have left the standard 3 way selector in. It is an amzing guitar.

good luck.

I'm hoping to own one someday. One of my favorite artists, Lincoln Brewster, plays the '57 RI (Heavy Relic!), and his guitars may be the most beautiful gits I've ever seen. Oh, and they apparently sound and play great too.

Edit: Woops, I think Lincoln Brewster may play the '57 Custom Shop.

You cant beat the hotrods. Theres a few bargains in US stores right now, you may do well to buy one from there and ship it to dublin or cavan. Just pop over the border then and hopefully avoid import tax and VAT.

Absolutely - without a question, love this guitar. My 3-way is still in this one as well.

Recommended - always.

Try the '57 and the '62 reissues. You will probably like one over the other based on neck shape/feel.
