Having just bought a strat with a nitro finish.
I am gigging this guitar most w/ends .

Polish or Wax that is the question . . . . ?????

cleaning the nitrocellulose .....

Dunlop Formula 65 Polish has become the industry standard daily-use
cleaner because it creates a genuine, no-residue shine in a hurry,
with the proper chemical balance to preserve any finish . . . . .

Or

Clayton Carnauba Guitar Wax Polish or Gerlitz Nº1 Carnauba wax

So if you have an opinion Polish Or Wax Or Both ?

cheers mick

I myself like either the Martin guitar polish for the body (I have the old formula though which is less polish and more of a cleaner, haven't tried their new stuff yet cuz I haven't ran out), Murphy's oil soap(heavily diluted) to clean the neck and every once in a while I use the Dunlop carnuba to wax it up. I've tried the Dunlop 65 polish, but I like it better on urethane or poly finishes. So IMHO do both, nothin wrong with keeping your investment clean.

I prefer 100% carnauba wax. Since it is a natural substance it does not build up. Once a good layer has been laid down, a good wiping after each play session is all that is needed for months. Bear in mind all “polishes”, unlike pure carnauba wax contain some form of abrasive that will remove a little of the finish.

Play On!
