I have a strat with custom shop sticker( it seems to be an original) on the back of the neck top and a stamp behind the string springs. The serial number is E 969190. The pickups serial number is 016730 same on all three.
I bought guitar it from a guy that i don t trust much but i liked a guitar.
So can anyone help me determinate the year, model, type of pickups(i asked at dimarzios web help -tech@dimarzio.com - they arent dimarzio).

Does fender have a customer service where one can make query about a product info and features.

I would be very grateful for any assistance.

At http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx that serial number says it was made at

Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 1989 - 1990

The E - denotes it was made in the 1980's

You can look at this fender page for some help identifying serial numbers.
http://fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

Not positive but I thought custom shop had a special engraved neck plate, as well as any stickers. (but I am only guessing on that)

As far as the pickup serial # read this post:
http://www.fenderforum.com/forum.html?t ... ber=414775
I think that may actually be a part number for some pups from the late 1980's.

Contact the custom shop. If they built that guitar then they will have that guitrar on file per the serial number.

Cool but i don t know how to contact them. I have send some query to customer service available at fender web page and did not get any answer in 4 days. So i wonder do they(custom department) have a web service or maybe i ll send a letter.
Interesting would be to know their policy about giving information to owners about products .
