I just have a quick ?
I am
looking at buying this beautiful example. I looked at the headstock and it says Fender and under neath that it says made in USA. and then it says Stratocaster and the serial is stamped on the back of the headstock with a metal disc that says 60th anniv.

My question is everything I can find says the 60th anniv. guitar is mim.
So can someone please enlighten a first time visitor to your site?

Just about all the guitars built in'06
carried the tiny round badge "60th".

Also was the commemorative 60th anniversary which
wore a genuine imitation diamond in the headstock,

Here is a question then - I have one, MIA that is serial # Z5, which would indicated a 2005 model, but has that little 60th diamond on it - this mean its an 06?

That very well could be I guess. Sometimes you see serials that are off by a year
