So you had a bout with temporary insanity, eh? Well, glad to see you've returned to your senses. Welcome back and lots of luck with your new Strat!!

Hi Hisham.

Why on earth did you sell the first one? What did you buy with the dough?

Hi Hisham, welcome back to the Strat family.

BTW: heading home - is that to Bethesda or Cairo?

I know Cairo a little. I spent three months staying in the Khan el-Khalili back in 1991...

Cheers - C

Hi Ceri
Home is Cairo, or Giza (the other side of the Nile) to be exact .... Khan el Khalili is a nice medieval place ... |It will take you back to the 1300's .....
Cheers
Hisham

'Zactly - that was the idea for that visit. Very interested in that medieval Cairene architecture. (The Pharaonic stuff is eye-popping too, of course; but that's a different issue.)

The Khan was characterful - and noisy, too! My hotel window looked out onto the Husseyn mosque, which was extremely loud, all the way through Ramadan...

Cheers man - C

Ramadan in the Khan will be noisy from dusk till dawn! everything is nocturnal there .... however, if you ever go there again ... don't forget to go to the "Bayt El oud" ... the house of the oud ... the prominent Iraqi oud player Naseer Shamma heads it now and Music is played and taught there. Its a place to see.

Ha! Well that's a good recommendation.

I have an oud - can't play it to save my life! (Can hardly even tune it.) :( Always glad to hear people who can, though.

Cheers - C

I've done that a couple of times, but have finally learned my lesson. I'll never be without my Strat again. Best guitar on the planet IMO.

Welcome back.
