Yeah, I'm one Strat lover who wouldn't pay that much for a guitar no matter what kind it was. Sorry, but $125,000, maybe if I was a gazillionaire. :D

Cool yes, but way too much money to spend on a guitar.

"Vintage" is a dodge, a grift perpetuated by non-musicians.

Why in Bog's name would this guitar be worth over 100 times more than a new Strat?

Because the more you pay, the more it's worth.

Personally, I think the collector's mindset is pathological. But hey, if it somehow makes you feel like the world makes sense and life isn't absurd and terrifying and everything is gonna be okay and you're not gonna die by spending this kind of kale... then, by all means, help yourself.

I don't understand why he is even selling it. If he was strapped for cash he could sell something else, and he obviously thinks higher of it than his wife and kids @ that price... but I don't blame him If I owned the same strat for 47 years I would feel the same.

cool find tho!

I think the owner can set the price of his instrument as high as he wants for whatever value he thinks the instrument is worth for. We decide if that's fair or not and depending on that, we buy or not.

The thing is.... is it ethical paying or charging 125K for a guitar when you know there's so many people, sometimes right next door, having serious economical problems? and not only in guitars or instrument, this goes for cars, houses or even clothes. On the other hand, if you've worked your $@! hard to get enough money to live well and be able to buy yourself something like this... is it fair?

Don't let's start.

This is a guitar forum, not a socio/political forum. Why even ask that?

Same opinion as before lads, it's still just a freaking guitar. Yes it's uncommon because it's old, but for that kinda cash it better come with a really hot bikini clad honey to display it for you.

I wouldn't care if Leo built it himself, I wouldn't buy it. Way too much coin. Somebody probably will though. You would think he would have a better sound clip/video of it. LOL

The funny part is "Local pick up only". For that kind of cash I'd expect him to hand deliver it to my house. :D

Maybe if i can get a stimulus check.... :D Bail out a starving musician. :D

For 125,000 dollars I'd rather buy 62 '62 AVRI strats,

+1 If this seller can find some idiot to pay him his $125K asking price then more power to him. :D

I dont like sonic blue or rosewood. I could happily walk past it. Its way overpriced too. £50k max for a 60's strat regardless of colour. Its not like its a 58 explorer or something. There are a few about and as we've seen over the last year or two, various new to the market vintage pieces are still cropping up.

He could part it out and make a serious small fortune.
I'll take one with some dings and scratches and save over 100k.
