Been playing my 2007 Highway One strat practically 24/7 for about two years now and I still prefer it over my other Fender Strats, VG, Deluxe, 1988 57' reissue, and 2006 american standard. I'm thinking of getting another one, but can't decide between a honey blond with maple fingerboard or a red wine with rosewood fingerboard. Great guitar for $699 now.

Here is my sloppy youtube demo:

Sounds good. I've been playing my Hwy 1 Fat Strat quite a bit lately. I just picked up a little '59 for the neck position. Should be fun to see how that one turns out... can't say enough about those Hwy 1's though. The best part is how cheap you can find them used. I found mine on craigslist for $300!

I have had mine for almost a year. I still love mine too. I too want to pick up another one before they disappear. Keep Rocking!

Right now mine are set to factory specs that came with the booklet. I have raised them hoping for more gain and lowered them for better sustain, but eventually I just set them back to their orginal heights and they are just fine there.

I have "better" and more expensive guitars than my Hwy1 Strat but it's the guitar that logs the most hours of playing time. It has a rosewood board and I prefer maple. Odd thing is I have an Amer Series Strat that was supposed to be everything I wanted in a guitar yet I reach for the Highway One more often. I don't know why.

My Highway does log more hours than my other guitar. For me it is the feel and tone it delivers. In my experience a more expensive guitar does equal a better guitar.

its the growl and the bite!!! yea its an awesome guitar...well on my quest to fixing my guitar...i caved in and sent that guitar and my acoustic (which needs a setup HORRIBLY bad) to a local guitar shop...i had him do a guitar for me a year ago and he did an excellent job...so i'm sure he'll get my baby back into battle condition...thx for the help tho

back on the topic of the Highway 1...i chose it over a deluxe model and a HSS deluxe...a KWS strat and the 60s player strat...and a couple others...this is it! i love how it can take distortion easily and still has that great twangy strat sound that everyone loves

I set my pickup heights according to Fender's recommendation. The treble side is higher than the bass side. Here is the link to Fender's setup guide. http://www.fender.com/support/stratocaster.php

My highway one also log much more playing time than any of my more expensiive USA made strats, along with my USA made Gibson Les Pauls and SG. The more expensive guitars, does look much better, but sounding much better can be subjective. My highway one is taking a very comfortable worn feel now.

Last year I bought a Highway 1 Strat, Honey Blonde with a maple fretboard, for $690. It was made before they started putting 70's style headstocks on them, so it has the normal size one. It looks, sounds, and most importantly, plays incredible. The neck is so solid, and it holds it's tune very well. Great guitars for the money.

Yea why would they want to get rid of this great line of guitars??? sales??? that is so lame if thats the reason...its gotta be the best playing and sounding strat ive ever played

I'm getting a Highway 1, and I've been looking for a Strat for a while. I sold my first one (a '74, in original condition, that I'd had for years and years) in 2004, and have regretted it ever since.

I've played a lot of Strats in the last few years, and I just couldn't find "the one" - for some reason, I'd never seen one of these for sale in any of my local haunts, but loved it after just a few minutes of playing.

Oh - Midnight Wine with a rosewood board, just in the interests of "full disclosure".

:D

I just got a new partner for my Highway One. Got this Roadworn Strat new with the deluxe gig bag for $599 out the door at my local GC. Man, this roadworn plays great off the rack. Didn't need to do any fine tuning on it.
