Can anyone explain, or even better yet, show photos of the difference between Bahama and Seafoam green? I've been told that Bahama Green is slightly darker than Seafoam, but not as dark as Tanqueray Green. Another knowledgeable gentleman said he thought Bahama and Seafoam were different names for the same color. Anyone out there with certain knowledge?

I talked with the folks at Fender today and they told me that Bahama Green is indeed different than Sea Foam Green; Bahama Green is slightly darker. According to their 1988 color catalog, Bahama Green is number 17, Surf Green is number 57 and Sea Foam Green is number 49. Bahama Green is, apparently, quite rare. It's a gorgeous color on a Strat.

Hi SpeedModel: welcome to the Forum.

I've tried and failed to come up with a photo of a Bahama Green Fender. Apparently, guitarist Eric Heatherly owns a "rare" Bahama Green Strat, but he seems to be very coy about letting us see it...

So I'm afraid I have yet to set eyes on the color you are talking about.

Care to find and post a picture for us?

Cheers - C

Thank you for the hospitality. There's certainly lots of helpful info on this forum.

I recently bought a Bahama Green 1988 Stratocaster Plus that I'll be happy to share photos next week, hopefully side by side with a Sea Foam Green guitar. It will be a great opportunity to contrast the difference in color. In the meantime, here's a pic of Eric Heatherly playing his Bahama Green Strat Plus. http://www.countryline-fm.com/Eric%20Heatherly.JPG

Nice and slightly unusual color. Thanks.

I would like to point out the CAR undercoat (seen where it is worn behind his arm and the bridge) interesting...

That looks like a sticker/decal of a lady in a one-piece Red bathing suit

Noticed on stratosphere that the 62hotrod sherwood green body is selling for close on $1k.

I thought it was a sticker of a 1940's style pin-up girl. After zooming in on the photo, I'm now 100% sure it is a girl in a red bathing suit. Here's a photo of Heatherly and his BG Strat Plus without the sticker.

Ocean-y greens, including Surf Green are so hip and gorgeous on Stats, it's enough to make you want nine more beers.

Here's a pic of the Bahama Green 1988 Strat Plus I bought. I'll try to find a Sea Foam Green guitar locally to photograph side-by-side for a color comparison.
