Puzzled just a bit , reliable company sunburst Strat MIM HSS (sorry for the repeat of the title) comes with a RoadRunner Thermoplastic case as well($99.99 new) the Guitar (with whammy) + case + shipping of $20.00
totals $370.00 , My ?? is the serial number MZ8.. and Made in Mexico are on the front of the Headstock and not on the back (wherever I have looked for matching models 2008 and prior the serial number and MIM are on the back (am I confused, wrong or worried about nothing? I received a "hands on descriptin of description , condition etc and raied the point (serial numebr and country placement and person states he has seen the serial number and country on the back and on the front depending on the make /model of Fender (he mentioned Artist models, American models, MIM, I am NOT a Fender expert and need some advice from those who are (here n these boards) as far as I know and researched alder body (2008 model) HSS, 1V 2Tone 5position blade swicth (normally a gig bag (instead a nice case)
only ? is in the multiple pictures the serial number and made in Mexico are on the back of the headstock and not on the front, everything else looks fine , its on consignment and I have it on hold and can walk away if desired
(have through a.m. tomorrow) the price for the total package is to me very good , almost too good and if not for the companies history I would not consider it. Should I be that concerned about the positioning of the serial number and origin of make? I am getting this feeling to walk for some reason , I have bought both new and used before so its not that issue
I don't desperatly need it , just spotted it last night and was very suprised it was still there today (online and in shop)
any input would be appreciated, I am not sure if I have posted here in the Strat section prior. have a variety of electrics and a A/E .If I do pass on it I will let you all know where this Fender Strat is (promise)
Thanks
Peace

It sounds like what you describe is a made in Ensenada std.model.Up to the end of 08 the serial number and country of origin are on the front of the headstock on MIM models and later that year the tinted neck has it on the rear.

Wingman 111,

Thanks for the post , I had the guitar +roadrunner case (case is $99.99 new at GC) on hold (total for both =$350.00 ) + $20.00 Fed Ex shipping
Guitar Fender Standard Sunburst (EC) 2008 HSS skunk stripe on neck and rosewood fretboard so thats $370.00 (? a new 08 $499.99 + new case=$99.99= $599.98 (if my math is correct) so $350.00 +$20.00 shipping is a fair amount off and the multiple pictures show a very clean guitar and hands on description only minor playing wear on pick guard

** And I called just a bit ago and had the hold taken off so if anyone is
interested its at Elderly Instruments web site item 30U-15558
it is a consignment item** Hope I did not violate forum rules by putting the companies name and item number in (its not my axe nor am I selling it for someone) the shipping could vary depending on where you live or if in MI its a brick and morter store. Not sure exactly why I passes
other than In the past I owned (new) a American Standard Stratocaster
and American Standard Telecaster and sold them both after awhile, I got super deals on both when the change to The American Series took place
in ? 2000 and now the American Standards are back, Currently I have a Gibson Blueshawk, Epiphone Elitist 57' Goldtop (that outplayed a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard IMO) (made in Japan), a Schecter Temepest Custom (won it online)always thought they were "shredder guitars, actually to me quite versatile & a cool axe, a PRS Tremonti SE (no comment) (platimum) should have sold it as it was a pre-Gibson Lawsuit model, a Line 6 Variax 500, a Takamine EG530C A/E and a no name classical acoustic about 35+ years old based on the Teacher I bought it from, I am rambling and on the Line 6 their is a nice Strat model and Teles, are they the same (heck no) but pretty darn close when you dial in (I use a Atomic Reactor Amplifier and alternate a Vox Tonelab desktop modeler in it and a Line 6 Podxt (plus others using the effects loop (Roger Linn Addrennalin II (updated to a III with the dual chip upgrade and template change) and throw in a EH Stereo Memory Man with Hazari and or a Boss SL-20 Slicer and its out their (and not to forget at times a Seymour Duncan Shape Shifter effects unit (won that on his online site) guess I have been lucky winning gear for sure ..but I have over 14,000 emails (mostly spam ) so I am soon to be shuting down contest entries (but people do win! and I left off a complete HP Computer tower, 22" Viewsonic LCD monitor and a HP 4 in one printer
(runs Win XP Pro out of the box and comes with Vista install disks if desire to run Vista (no thanks) but I am a Mac person anyways but the computer system helps out !

Peace and I apolgize for rambling and do dig Fender's and if I could find a
real nice Fender Jaguar Baritone (U.S.) model (thats discontinued that had the two single coils (not the Sub Sonic one, that I would pursue

I just did not feel comfortable buying without trying, "probably" wolud have been fine, had been checked out and set up in their shop, but I would pay shipping both ways (still not not that bad as they qouted me $20.00 to me )
Peace and
is that another kick me sign on my back !

You all must think I am on the wrong forum , I wanted to clarify that I sold gear to buy (new) the 2001 Wind Red Gibson Les Paul Standard
(for $1498.00) and they are ? what $2200.00 now depending on what
"Standard or Classic or P/U configuration is in the guitar. The Gibson played well but so darn heavy but always wanted one (that G.A.S.) which I am doing a lot better on, I ended up selling the Gibson LP at close to what I paid and later bought the Epiphone Elitist 57' Goldtop (MIJ) with % of Gibson USA parts depending on who you talk to anyway it plays wonderful
is lighter and sustains like no other guitar I have owned (never had a Fernandes with a Sustainer system) But Fender (IMO) quality control
is so much better than Gibson's and the price increases were to much in the economy we are in so its good to see these price drops on Fender's
(some models) and the increase in other models as well signature Jazzmasters etc. Nothhig wrong with CNC and glad to see some MIJ models making their way into USA inventory yet also surprised at the cost of MIM artist series
I have sure learned alot from browsing the forums of various Fender Guitars!
Well I have taken enough web space for quite awhile

Peace
dw :D
