In the early 90's I bought a beautiful black strat with gold lace sensor pickups and a neck kinda like the one on a Jackson-The neck was Thin and wide.-anyone remember what the model was called? The back of the neck had little finish-really a lack of finish on the back it was not shiny at all. For some reason I sold it and have regretted it ever since.

Today I played about 30 of the new Strats in 2 different stores. There is no Strat that I have been able to find like this. Does anyone have any suggestions? The closest I came was the 50's Road Worn-but I want a maple neck. Ease of string bending is a huge factor for me. I also played a Highway one that felt awesome-I am a little leary of the finish and quality of parts.

I was not crazy about the new metal nut-it seemed to make bending not as easy
Price is not a huge issue-I just want to get a great guitar.
