I have a 60 Classic Player that I bought in November. I love it. But with other classic players that I've seen, they have the "Custom Shop Designed" neck plate. Mine does not. This isn't a huge deal for me but I was wondering do other peoples' CP strats have this?

I just played one today, a really, really nice used one (don't know what year), and it did not have the neckplate you describe. No matter... a guitar that sweet doesn't need any bragging.

Mine has the Custom Shop Designed on the neck plate and almost all of the strats sold in 2006 have the 69 custom pickups initialled by Abigail Ibarra.

It's no big deal but don't the specs specify that feature under "Unique Features"??? I think thats the main selling point of that guitar- "custom shop designed" otherwise you'd just buy a classic series 60's strat and not a CP60's?

If its not there and the specs say thats what you get with the guitar, I'd be making noises about it.

Correct me if im wrong- If you purchase something and its not what it describes, in my country that would breach the "fair trading act"

Yeah buit on the Fender Website under every guitar it says, specs subject to change without notice, so Fender covers their rear

Any chance it's a Classic '60s instead of a Classic Player's 60's?

One way to tell for sure: If its in any color other than sunburst or Sonic blue its not a CP60's, If it doesn't have a 2-point bridge its not a Cp60. If the pickup bottoms are not gray, its not a Cp60.

I'm guessing this is the guitar you are talking about?

If so that's NOT a Classic Player it is a standard classic 60's[/i]

You might want to check the original receipt -- There's a price difference between the CP 60's and Classic 60's. It might've just been a mistake by the sales person... nice guitar in either case bu you should make sure you got what you paid for...
