I am new owner of a 94-95 strat made in mexico -via neighbor's trash can. I'm acoustic for last 20 years. What do I have/compare it to ? neck is great, has been painted on front and sanded on back ,I guess to dull the finish. Can definitely be fixed up. Also, did it come with wammy bar ? Any info. would be appreciated

Will try to send pic. I guess I'm asking what is a mexican made strat comparable to,
a squire, or lower end model. ? Am really out of the loop on this one........Until pic, back of neck has dark wood inlaid strip down center. volume and 2 tone control pots, 5 position toggle switch, 3 pickups. Just pulled the neck and pick guard. under the neck on the body, looks like "SQUI" .are squires made in mexico? there is no squire label on the headstock. where neck attaches, unpainted wood is light color like poplar. guitar body feels rather light. Now Im thinkin I should have left it there-couldn't do it. have to fix her up..

just saw where the small label was scratched off at the top of the head stock-looks like it is a squire

Nah its a squire series if the squire is where the contour body decal should be. American corona plant made body and neck, cheap leftover squire trem, tuners and pickups.

The favourite of my collection is one of them. Worth about £150 used. Very much of a unrecognised classic strat neck. Not much else about them is of note.
