Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum, was recommended to sign in by a friend of mine, Miami Mike, when posting this story on a private forum. Hope you don't mind me sharing this story as my first post ever here...

I've just finished my second "Partsocaster" project, a Stratocaster built by parts. Most of them Fender original parts. For this project I had an idea of letting a friend of mine doing a custom paint job. The theme for the paint job was "Preserved Decay"

Here are the story with pictures: http://myfolder.se/myspace/?m=2

Hi Goran, welcome to the Forum!

Congratulations on that cool paint job. A very unusual and interesting effect - and great step-by-step photos, too. Thank you.

Also, one of the neatest bits of shielding I can remember seeing. Impressive!

Cheers - C

I used Goran's method of shielding on a couple of mine. Works great too!

Wow, that looks great. I like it because it has the ideas of a relic behind it, but it's not a relic with that pretty, smooth clearcoat. It's just a really really cool paint job. Congrats on an amazing strat.

"preserved decay" is the finish name. Fits it nicely too. 8)

Wow! Thanks guys for all kind words! :D

Just been away a couple of hours working and seeing all replies!

The photos does not do the finish justice, it's really hard doing nice photos with a simple digital camera, especially on guitars.

But the guitar turned out better than I could imagine, and it plays really well to. The 2008 American Standard necks is awesome, and the Hot Noiseless pickups is really great! I wish to send Bill Turner a thanks for designing those wonderful pickups!

Yes, nikininja, the Partsocaster I is awesome. I purchased the Oly White body to do this project but changed my mind when seeing the parts together. The Lace Sensors Hot Gold (13.2k set) is absolutely awesome. This guitar is a keeper, it plays very well and is really comfortable. Didn't have to do any tweaking at all to make it play well. The Parstocaster I is still my #1.

/G

My goodness that is a great looking guitar. Very unique. That antigua pickguard looks like it was made for that guitar. Well done.
