Yeah i find that the bbc is broadcast with less overall volume. The comercial stations want to ram the ads down your throat so the volume on them is higher, particularly during the ads.

The BBC is the state owned broadcast station. It gives in my opinion the best program schedule for both its TV and radio stations. Its paid for by a tax on tv owners called the liscense fee. Its a tax i dont mind though as theres no adverts on either the radio or tv channels. They just mention upcoming shows that they have.

Hi bluestube: those links have kept me busy - thank you!

All this material is from a three part BBC 4 series called The Story Of The Guitar. I had it safely stored on a hard disc recorder for a while - untill that machine crashed! Luckily, it was a few days within the two year warranty and we got it replaced. Unluckily, I lost that guitar series! Rats...

Cheers - C

If I'm not mistaken and memory serves me right, the red guitar on the right in the background was his first ever electric guitar and because it had cost so much he hadn't the heart to ask his dad about getting an amp so he went ahead and tried using a radio speaker and that worked....for five minutes! 8) 8) 8)
