Hi Guys,

Just a quick one.
Can any of you Clapton owners confirm how long, on average, the battery in the mid-boost can be expected to last? I have been playing it for a good month for at least 4 hours a week plugged in and have noticed no degradation in signal. Are there any signs to look for in the sound quality, or does it just die quickly (I just use regular alkaline batteries).

Just as an aside, I thought I read recently on this forum that ALL Custom Shop Clapton models do not feature TBX. Mine is just a Teambuilt and it definitely does have this feature, and my understanding was that it was just the Masterbuilt that don't. Sorry if this drags up old crap, but I though someone might be interested!

Also while I am here, for those interested in a Clapton model, my brief review (of the Custom Shop model) would be...

Fantastic construction, neck is a real beauty although I had never owned a 'V' shape before. Plays easy and fast and a great mix of new and old, in terms of the radius (9.5) and fret-size (med-Jumbo?).
Sound-wise, do not expect to get classic Strat tones - the VNs simply do not have that facility - but then when did we last hear Clapton use what we would call a 'vintage' clean Strat sound? But what it does do is re-create the 'woman-tone' pretty well, without the weight of a Les Paul. I have to turn my amp down a notch or two after playing a more vintage-voiced Strat as this beast is loud!
I am liking it and it plays like honey, but its taking some getting used to!

Cheers,
Eddie

I was changing mine every month- it's about the same as a stomp box.

I can't remember off the top of my head but I think that leaving it plugged in wastes batteries.

Okay, thanks for that dude.

I only have it plugged in when I'm rehearsing mostly, but I have heard that before.

Cheers,
Eddie

it might be 2x a year if you play it about 4 hrs a week..
thats what my repair Guy said:)

but at the end it depends on how much you play
and what kind of battery you use.... try not to use cheap batteries because they might leak...
