Hey all, I have a few questions about the bridge of my MIM standard strat HSS

1. Does this guitar have a floating bridge?
2. What specifically does a floating bridge mean? (I think I know, but I could be wrong)
3. Is the bridge supposed to float lower when I am in a lower tuning?
4. Is that bad for the bridge to float lower for a long period of time?

Thanks

~TMP~

1. Only if you want it to.

2. A floating bridge is a way to setup your bridge so you can also pull up on the tremolo to raise the pitch.

3. Yeah, that sounds normal, because your strings may not have as much tension on certain tunings.

4. Uh, no, not really, you just may have tuning problems sometimes.

If don't want your bridge to float, just add all five springs in the back and tighten up the spring claw until your bridge sits tight against the body and the strings tension will no longer be able to pull the bridge up.
