Hey there... I am the happy owner of a Fender American Standard Stratocaster, Sienna Sunburst..!

I have for a long time thought of replacing some parts for my guitar.. Here I'm talking about the bridge, tuners and the jack-input thing...

I'm just talking about getting them replaced with new `gold´ looking tuners, bridge and jack-input thing.! BUT!
I can't imagine how it will look!!!!

Just wondering, if any of you did what I'm considering to do!

Or if anyone have seen pics....

That's it.! XD

Well, if you or a friend is good in photoshop, you can make a lot of changes to check out before you actually do them.

Personally, I never really liked gold hardware on strats. To me, it's too "cool" of a guitar to pretty-up that much. Strats should be cool, or tough, or something, but not too blinged out. Maybe a high end LP or PRS might look good with gold. A nice acoustic always looks good with gold, but that's a whole different look and completely different thing.

Keep in mind, once you put some gold on it, any remaining silver will look strange. You should do all gold (tuners, input, trees, pickguards screws, strap pins, etc), or leave it all silver. A lot of gold hardware ends up looking too yellow or orange to me, and actually cheapens the look of the guitar in some cases.

If you decide to do gold, make sure all the golds are nice and match each other as well.

I agree. To me Strats (or even Teles for that matter) just don't look "right" with gold hardware. I suppose if you ARE going to do it, then the sunburst you have is probably the finish for it though.

Or check out the SRV strat. That has gold hardware. See link:

Cheers.

Check out this Fender FSR Deluxe Player Strat Limited Edition Electric Guitar - a UK site has it listed.

This factory special run guitar looks stunning with gold hardware and finished in Sienna Sunburst. It also features a 3ply pearloide scratchplate to finish off the amazing look.

Only 1 photo - but you can kind of get the idea.

I couldn't agree more. Looks none too good on Gibsons, either ... but especially out of place on a Fender. Just my opinion ... not trying to offend the bling'ers out there.

I personally also don't like the look of gold on strats. But in that picture posted earlier, the gold hardware looked okay on the sienna sunburst but it's really up to you. I can imagine my black flame top Les Paul with gold hardware looking fantastic though. 8)
