been thinking of upgrading my hghway for a while now and finally decided to do it! ended up choosing the custom shop 69s! and got a set of locking tuners whacked on as well,

couldnt sleep waiting for it, now ive got it im not all that sure ive done the right thing! for 1 the guitar now is really rattlly, like really bad! and i just dont know about the pickups now, they dont sound all that great compared to the alnico3s im starting to think! it maybe because its so rattly now and i cant stand rattling and maybe somehow thats stopping me feeling the vibe if ya get me? anyway anyone else got these? or were dissapointed with em? or any experience with em atall? any input would be great!
thanks!

The stock pickups in the newer Highway 1's are fabulous, you just to get rid of the Greasebucket Circuit.

There isn't a night-and-day kind of difference between those pickups. The alnico3s are just a tad hotter.

What's rattling? The new tuners? Do you have them locked right?

Anyone have an Highway One Honey Blonde?
I really wish to see real photos of one. Because I don't know if I'm gonna be disapointed with the colour :?

I was wondering the same thing about that rattle. I still have the Alnico 3 stock pups in mine. I bought Fender/Schaller locking tunners and do not have any rattle.

Is the rattle coming from the body or from the neck. If it is the body, I would take that guitar right back to the store and ask them to correct their shotty work. If it is the neck, it may be the tunners and as long as you have them locked down they should not rattle. Again I would take it back and have them fix it.

Let us know the outcome.

The Custom Shop '69s are the best Fender pickups I've ever heard!

I have to find my spec sheets but the inductance of those two pickups are much different forget about compairing resistance. The magnets power and the wraps are much different and cause the coil induction to be different.
You ever wonder why pickups with the same resistance ratings can sound so different its because the the magnetic material the turns and density of them causes a difference in the action thats being induced in the coil.
The grease bucket was designed around the pickups installed, they also use the greasebucket in some basses as well with there pickups.

I can't think of any reason the Greasebucket Tone circuit couldn't be used with the CS69 pickups.

It can be used with any pickups but they are not going to sound as they were designed to. But some may like the sound.
