What a great list.

Runs the gamut of musical expression from "A" to "B."

All things considered, Eric Clapton.

Like most, my other Strat Gods are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. And I'm a huge David Gilmoure and Ritchie Blackmore fan as well. Kid from the jeans commercial years ago, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has impressed me as well.

However, and I realize this wasn't asked, my greatest all around influence; guitar player, song writer and singer...John Fogherty...he is almost single handedly, Creedence.

Nuts, can't believe I forgot Robin Trower, who I love dearley and would put on par with David Gilmoure in my list. (Note the album.)

Rory Gallagher - Every time. HE is just brilliant, and its good to see some other people mentioning Rory as well. Far too many people have never heard of him.

Behind Gallagher, the obvious guys- Hendrix, Clapton, SRV.

There is not one guitarist mentioned here who matches Rory Gallagher's versatlity. He played awesome electric , acoustic and slide guitar - not to mention harmonica, mandolin, sitar and tenor sax. To many of these other guitarists made their marks with guitars other than Strats .... Eric Clapton is an example. Gallagher's battered Strat was closely identified with him - there was no mistaken whose guitar it was.
