What is really strange is just about all my guitar influences besides the elder blues players who mostly played Gibson E335 played Strat yet up until 4 or 5 years ago i always played Double humbucker guitars..It makes me wonder what i was thinking for 20 plus years before i made the switch to Strats...Anyway here are my favorites inorder

#1 Hendrix
#2 Robin Trowers
#3Clapton
#4 Buddy Guy
#5 Jeff Healey
#6 David Gilmour
#7 Mark Knopflier
#8 Jeff Beck

SRV- Tone of the Gods
Hendrix- Expanded the vocabulary of the Strat

Rory Gallagher - Every time. HE is just brilliant, and its good to see some other people mentioning Rory as well. Far too many people have never heard of him.

Behind Gallagher, the obvious guys- Hendrix, Clapton, SRV.

John Frusciante and Hendrix for my all time faves i'd say but my current fave has to be Ian D'sa. Hes certainly not what the vast majority of the guys here would listen to... hes a punk rock guitarist.. but the stuff he does is too technical.. like a punk rock Hendrix almost.

Hey, earlier in this thread, someone mentioned Walter Trout -- good to see that since I've got a ticket to see him and Guitar Shorty (plays G&L's I believe) at a small local venue in August...

If I had to pick one favorite Strat player it would have to be SRV...

G,day from The Great Southern Land.
Jimi is the best I've heard, but Jeff Beck does the buisness. Saw Mr. Beck recently in Melbourne, Australia, savage, very savage. The band were water tight, and the crowd went ballistic. Made an old fella very happy.
Cheers
Shane.
