Difficult for me to realize who is the best.......
For my sound preferences, maybe Gilmour, but also Blackmore, Yngwie, SRV, Knopfler.... sooooo difficult..

i'll never be as good as slowhand, srv, eric johnson, malmsteen, gallagher, kotzen, hendrix, beck, or any of those guys, so i'll just take what i can get!

All things considered, Eric Clapton.

Like most, my other Strat Gods are Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. And I'm a huge David Gilmoure and Ritchie Blackmore fan as well. Kid from the jeans commercial years ago, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has impressed me as well.

However, and I realize this wasn't asked, my greatest all around influence; guitar player, song writer and singer...John Fogherty...he is almost single handedly, Creedence.

I'd have to say SRV and Dave Murry. Two different styles but 2 great sounds.

I would have to say it would be me.

Beck or Knopfler

Hendrix, Frusciante, and SRV. Now that I'm thinkin about it, probably Clapton too. and if i keep thinking about it the list goes on. Jimmy Page, Knopfler, Beck Etc. The list doesn't seem to end.

#1, Clapton.....followed by Hendrix, Trower, Hughie Thommasson, Jeff Beck, Ray Gomez, Eric Johnson, Greg Koch, Randy California, Randy Hansen, Tommy Bolin, ......the list of names, much like the road, goes on forever..........
