That's the ground wire for your guitar. All you need to do is solder it back to the trem claw.

In the absence of a soldering iron you can strip about 1.5" from the end of the wire (check the overall length of the wire first to make sure you have enough to work with) and tie it to the trem spring. I go inbetween the coils of the spring and lay off the trem in those circumstances. You can get away with 1/2" of wire when you've done it a couple of times too. That will get you out of a jam fast (like 5 minutes before you go onstage).

What you really need to look at is 'why has the wire ripped off?'
Most times its because the backplate has been left off the guitar and the wire has caught on a rivet on your jeans or something. Sounds like you could do with putting the plate back on.

Yes Niki that sounds like what happened.I had the ballbearing in my LSR nut in the case and one of the metal teeth that hold it in sticking straight out and it took a month for me to figure out how the hell this happened, IT WAS DRIVING ME CRAZY. Then I found that after playing and wiping down the neck with a cloth it caught the tooth and pulled it up.Now I cover the nut with my thumb when I wipe it down.
