I must say Freedom you have some wonderful taste :D

I have the same deluxe tele, but most of those guitars of yours look like something I'd buy.

That's all the electric 6 strings, well, except for the '62 reissue in Surf Green. It's floating around the forum somewhere.

Freedomstain,
Is that Gretsch the Malcom young model with TV Jones Pups? How do you like it ? That green burst Gibson caught my eye as well. I saw one of those up for sell on ebay or Gear page one... I was tempted...

The Malcolm Young has stock filtertrons. I think it's great because it has that signature Gretsch tone and feel. The surprise is what happens when you mix filterton p'ups with overdrive or distortion. Malcolm made it obvious we can use it for rock, but it can hold its own with metal. With the clear highs you get, even with a ton of distortion, it is definitely a lead guitar. That's why I've been buzzing about the La Cabronita guitars. I think any soildbody with filtertron style pickups would be nothing short of incredible. Then add that tone with the sustain of a good tele, you get a really different and cool guitar.

And yes, that is a Gecko LP Standard. I wouldn't recommend getting that guitar as something you play- it is definitely a much better investment guitar than it is a playing guitar. They are somewhat rare and the story behind their production comes from the unwritten pages of guitar collector legend. If you find a 50's neck with a good flame, it may be worth something in the future- but then again who knows? If you can get it for a good price, it's usually a win either way. Mine remains to be an interesting showpiece mounted on a living area wall, beside the green couch. Yea... it plays that well.

Thanks :D. I like the funky stuff a lot, but I'm still a sucker for a white guitar. As a result, I have a mix of several classic beauties with funky parts and a few complete weirdos.

How do you feel about the pickups on your tele?

I think the SCN's are quite nice actually. Don't think I'll ever need to swap them for anything. How do you feel about them?

And knotty, if I can be pretty cheesy for a sec - that collection is just naughty :P

The Tele is a vintage 52.

Sanx or the kudos. Some of them have changed since the pic was taken.

I thought the SCN's sounded too stratty. I figured I had plenty of strats, so I wanted a stereotypical tele tone. The tele purists will roll their eyes, but I swapped out the SCN's for Nocaster p'ups. I know, the Nocaster/Broadcaster isn't at tele per se, but when I think of tele tone it comes out sounding like a Nocaster. It was a weird choice because I love bright pickups and you can't get much brighter than SCN's. The Nocaster p'ups have a killer Rolling Stones tone though. :D

Thanks Joelski! It sounds a bit tinny, but it plays nicely. The neck is very smooth and fast.

Hey, whatever works for you  I've only got one strat so the tele still serves me well as far as sounds my strat won't cover. They're my partners in crime :P

What model Gretsch is that? That's the nicest thing that doesn't have the name fender or gibson I've ever seen. Very refreshing
