Hi Again All,
Thanks for your help with my previous post.

Can anyone Identify the strat that Joe Welsh is using in this version of Funk 49?
This is the exact sound that i am trying to emulate!!

Joe Walsh is playing a Eric Clapton strat in that vid...

But strange enough it's not a cs model it has the E.C. Sig on the front of the headstock (I have the dvd so i can see the sig)

Looks and kinda sounds like a clapton only with more clank. I could be mistaken but it looked like he was using the neck and mid position. It sounded more like bridge and mid.
That could well be down to outboard settings though.

Its in the bridge position. You can see the switch position pretty clearly just before Walsh say "datsa so nice" near the end of the song.


Yeah,he's on the bridge throughout the song you can see it between .35 and .40 and then at the datsa so nice portion. cheers

Thanks for the replies guys, I can see there is a lot of knowledge here!
I just love the sustain/power notes that he is getting with this guitar, In your opinion will a new American Standard be able deliver the same sort of sound? As I said previously Ireally want a strat that I can get to sing like that!
Unfortunately there are not many guitar shops where I live So I need to try and get as much info online  thanks for your help guys.
