The only thing about the guitar being modded is that you will not get top dollar if you want to resell it.The only guitar I have ever modded are usualy my top 2 players as I am never going to sell them ever so I make them as player friendly or replace the pups to my taste.Otherwise I try to keep everything stock so id I want to sell I get top dollar. As someone who has bought a lot of axes on ebay you just have to learn to be patient because every week something pops up so dont feel bad taking a pass or losong out as it usualy works out in your favor. And always make sure the item you are buying is protected by pay pal so if it comes not as described you are covered .Most sellers are honest and will describe every blemish but as with everything you have some bums out there,so ask as many questions you feel to.My first one is are there any dents ,dings, sctratches or bucklerash. Then has there been any mods.I ask these even when they list something as mint and you will be suprised how many times the answer is yes there is just a tiny chip blah blah.So ask away and good luck .KEEP ON ROCKIN.

The highway one does not have rolled edges.

Maybe different model years dont have rolled edges.

My Hwy1 neck is a 2008. I bought it basically new, stripped from a new guitar. It has not been modified.

Mine has nicely rolled edges and the frets are angle buffed also.

Yes...Fender calls the 2006 Hwy1 an "upgraded" guitar. But those upgrades were not options a buyer could order. You could not tell your guitar dealer that you "want the upgrade" as if there was a base model to upgrade from. Fender simply changed the features of the guitar in 2006 after receiving so many complaints on prior model years.

I do believe one of the upgrades in 2006 was rolled edges.

my 2007's have them

Jay. Hand rolled edges are a rounding of the edge of the fingerboard rather than a flat edge with a 90 degree angle. If you look at the low E side of the fingerboard you will see a tiny triangle of wood sticking up. Its where the tool they used to round the edge cant get in close enough to finish cutting.
Rolled edges aren't listed in the specs anymore. Even on the american deluxe.

I'll post a picture later showing the nut end of my deluxe or hotrod.

CV...Im not arguing. Maybe I dont know what I thought I did. You and Feathers both say no and you guys know more than I.

So please tell me what you guys are referring to when you say "rolled edges".

Niki is dead on with the fretboard. Also I believe the only specs that still say this as a unique feature is the Amer Std.

I no you were not arguing with Me I was referencing another post of yours that was answered   I don't wont to say over the open forum but all is cool My friend

I have an 06',with the "upgrade" and mine did not have them. It feels close to the rolled edges of my american standard, but my H.O's neck is very well done to not really feel the sharper edges of a regular standard built guitar. I would think the rolled edge would be featured item listed on the H.O. specs, but it didn't mention it then nor now. Only thing I can see in terms of listed specs is the American Standard listing the rolled edge feature. The deluxe model was listed as "highly detailed nut and fretwork". Could rolled edges be included in the that too? Needles to say, the H.O.'s upgrade version neck is quality.

Thanks Niki. I understand what you are describing. To that end, I guess mine isnt "hand rolled". I guess that means if the edges are just rounded smooth, they are "nicely finished"?

Sounds like a matter of degree to me. But hey, learn something new every day and every day Im reminded that I think I know more than I really do.

CV...still not quite getting your comment though. Are you taking a shot at me, big boy?

Not you My friend, And the best way to decribe a rolled board is to make the fret board feel as though it has had someone hands stroking that thing smooth.
Here is a dude making a neck at one point you will see him use the screwdriver to roll down the edge, not how its done in factory but results there. I have seen it done with an actual rolling devise along the board.
