Hey Guys,
I am keen to buy a Stratocaster, however my wallet is tight at the moment.
I would really like the American Standard series But just don’t have the $2000 + to splash out on a new one.
Can anyone identify the following Strat at all? The price is within my budget,

Thanks for your help

The neck looks like an American Standard's neck, but I don't know what the body is ... notice that it has a vintage style 6 screw tremolo.

An American Standard would have a 2 pt trem.

So either the dude put a vintage style trem on it or that's some other kind of body (Mexican, HWY 1, or ???).

+1 on that. It's right there on page 67 of the 2006 Frontline Catalog: the identical guitar. That semitransparent red finish (which I can't remember on a US Standard/Am Series, at least for a long time), and the small headstock with two stringtrees of that type. And the six-screw bridge.

That's what the Highway One looked like before it's "upgrade" in 2007 (or was it 2008?).

From the photo all but the top e string are Fender Bullets. I wonder if that means they've never been changed? That would suggest it ain't been played a lot and so is possibly in very good condition. You could ask the seller about that.

AU$810 is around US$645. Not a model I follow: I have no idea how people would feel about that price...

Cheers - C

...And the briefest of Googles finds us Fender's own picture of the red pre-upgrade HWY 1:

A dead ringer...

This wording reminds me of the far eastern scam sellers that seem to have been shut down now.

IF You try to find a Fender Stratocaster GUITAR - MADE IN USA - just for fun at home & wedding not for touring - with FENDER Case and Original Cable Manual Book Package - THIS IS THE ONE U should Bid. I am not pro player so I can not tell more details beyond my skill. HAPPY BIDDING

That body doesnt look legit at all. The grain matching for the top 3rd is suspect at best. That guitar has never been played, or atleast the backplate wasnt on it. It all looks far too new for a seven year old guitar.
