This is the second time I watch this clip, I didn't think it was anything special.

Thanks for posting that one. I don't stay up that late and would have missed it. He likes to whip out that Monterey on the left coast songs... 8). I couldn't get a good look at his amps but they weren't 2 Rock. Looked like a vintage Vox head and something else.

That man has chops... The Trio is the best vehicle for showcasing his stratobilities....

The amp on the right is a Two-Rock ( not sure about the model name)
And the one on the right is a Dumble Steel String Singer

I gotta agree, It's defintely not the best cover of the song I've heard the phrasing on that particular song is really difficult anyway but there was nothing of it there at all.
I know I'm going to be burned for this but personally I don't rate john mayer all that highly. I think he's very ordinary and not half the player that some of the unknown guitarists on youtube are. Sometimes he can be quite good but I don't feel anythin when I see him play unlike what gets me when I watch Gallagher, Knopfler, Gilmour or SRV...sorry guys but the man's a dud for me.

I think that was a very cool rendition of California Dreamin'. I like it, because it's different. He does not have the SRV or Gilmour-ish leads etc. nor does he want to be, but I do respect him as a song writer.

Amp on the right was a Two Rock JM sig. The Amp on the left was a Dumble Steel String Singer.

I totally agree. That was just horrible. I still can't see what all the fuss is about with this guy. The guy is so overrated. He did still have his game face on though. :D Sorry I couldn't resist.

Maybe we have to go to Mexico or Canada to dial it up.
