Hey,
Just got done with some mods on my 2008 MIM Strat. I added a set of Fender locking tuners, swapped the aged white pearl pickguard for a black pearl, and added a Dimarzio area 61 in the bridge and two area 58's in the middle & neck positions. So, what do ya' all think...black or white ???

I agree on the white with maple, black with rosewood.

The black is certainly more dynamic, but the white guard kind of bridges the colour(which is quite beautiful by the way,) of the body with the light shade of the neck. The black would be a better meld into a darker fretboard.

Hi BigTufGuy! I like more contrast between the body and the pickguard, so I think the white pearl pickguard looks better on that guitar. But that black pearl is gorgeous -- it would look incredible on an Olympic White guitar with a rosewood fretboard. Thanks for the pictures!

Both of them look good, however I'd vote white.

I would say white

Black with white knobs and covers or vise versa, see maple neck with black dots
