It will say American if it is. Otherwise it is made in Mexico.

I even heard some strats are assembled in mexico but the parts are american made so maybe in the end your just buying the american label??

That hasnt been the case for a good few years. Truth be told it doesnt matter. My MIM outranks even my customshop guitar for playability. Whether it was like that new or because its worn in to fit like a glove, i dont know. Far too many braincells were sacrificed to the god of excess since i bought it.

Sam, as already mentioned, the American-made products all have the word "American" in their name.

A standing (non-PC) joke around here is that you can buy a Fender made by Mexicans in Mexico or by Mexicans in California... :oops:

yeah I agree like my cheaper fender, in my opinion, plays better than my friends expensive ibanez but then again allot of the tone and quality of the music is the sublte things a guitar player does

My MIM ashwood Strat is one killer guitar. All I changed were the pickups and some trim. Now has Fender Noisless and shell pickguard and spring cover.
