In all honestly, I really don't care what the almighty "Slash" thinks. There are plently of other better guitarists who have nothing but great things to say about their strats.

I think all he was trying to convey is that for him a Les Paul is easier to set up. Not that they are better than Strats. They just work better for what he needs. That's all.
Sounds like the old Chevy vs Ford argument.

I don't know how you came up with "he hates strats."

He seems frustrated!

Thrown into the arms of Les Paul-type guitars (Gibson and "other") because he can't find the perfect Strat ... one that matches the one he loved so much. Imagine had he been able to find one or two perfect Strats ... we probably would never have seen him with a Les Paul around his neck.

Les Paul, who is 93 I believe, still plays every monday at Iridum in Manhattan. It ain't cheap ($50 + food & drink per person). But it's
LES PAUL ferchrissakes!
As to Slash, good for him. He can play whatever he wants. Part of the fun with my Strats is fighting the older ones for tone when they're cranky. Jimi Hendrix didn't seem to be hurt too bad by Strats.

Love,
Todd

maybe hate is a loose word here, how bout dislikes :).....my point is in the first post of the interview on why he likes gibs or fend, he seems to say his is the best playing and he isnt at all interested in strats. But like the few posters above me, it's one guys opinion.

Slash ever played a white strat (maybe the '58) on the making of 'November Rain' (video)....Slash played theme from Godfather with Duff McKagan on drums and Gilby Clark on guitar....

You can see the video on YouTube (but I can't remember, which part when he plays)
