how come strats dont get suped up more often. yah know like when they add a locking bridge, or maybe thinner necks, or pickups that can be used for any music other than country and jimi hendrix. It may sound like i am dogging on strats, but i do like them very much as i have one.

Strats are very versatile instruments. It is hard to find and instrument that does it all, but strats come close. Strats do some things well and others not so much. If you want to play a slim neck, locking trem, humbucker guitar it would be way cheaper to by an Ibanez or a Jackson. You gotta figure a MIM strat will cost you $600 and then another $600 in mods to make it similiar to an Ibanez.....or you could just spend $600 on an Ibanez and buy a strat.

My question is this. Would you buy an Ibanez and mod it out to make it sound like a Strat???

Well I dont think Buddy Holly sounds like Hendrix and he dont sound like Blackmore who sounds nothing like Beck who sounds nothing like Gilmour who does not remind me of the Edge who plays nothing like Yngwie who is miles apart from Knopfler Wow thats a lot of musical styles covered right there and the list could go on.All from one ax
