TWO QUESTIONS PLEASE:

1. Is it possible to do a wiring mod on an EJ strat to have a Neck/Bridge combo? I don't know enough about the pickups to know if neck & bridge are same winding direction & polarity.
Am thinking of doing the mini-toggle switch a-la-Gilmour instead of a blender or PushPull pot.
If the N & B pup's are compatible for in-phase use then...

2. Can someone send me the wiring diagram to do the neck on/off toggle switch as done on a Gilmour Signature strat. Please send to:

medpad@yahoo.com

THANKS!

MD :D

In an answer to your first question, the neck and bridge are the same winding direction and polarity so yes, they are compatible. As to your second question, Google is your friend.

Thanks Martian!

I've found the diagrams I need for toggle install... looks simple enough with a jumper wire going from the neck pup's hot lead going to the toggle's mid terminal and then the bottom terminal of the toggle going to the Vol pot.

However my new challenge is this (not formerly mentioned mod desire)

I want to do the "tone pot jumper wire" to get the mid & bridge together onto the lower tone pot. (EJ std wiring is for mid to have no tone control and lower pot controls bridge tone.)

The problem for me is that the EJ 5-way wiring is flip-flopped from standard 5-way, with the pup leads on Rt. side and tone pot leads on Lt. side... I'm not confident of my guess as to where on that switch config to add the jumper wire to wed Mid & Bridge onto lower tone pot.

Could I send you the EJ wiring diagram so you good see how 5-way is wired and maybe tell me where the tone jumper wire should go?

THANX!

A HUGE THANKS TO YOU MARTIAN - for helping another wiring newbee to mod their Strat. You are a gentleman and a scholar, and I want all here to know it.

Thanks & Regards!

MD
