My very first electric was a 3/4 scale body strat knock-off; it was made by a company named VMI, the model, I believe, was called the Cruise.

My first guitar was a 1979 Fender Musicmaster. It was a great first guitar, and I wish I never sold it to my friend, who destroyed it.

I'm a Lefty. My Mother is a professional Broadway Pianist. In 1976 I asked for a guitar for my (17th) birthday. Mom went to Manny's (RIP) and bought me a Yamaha accoustic.
Righty.
I was so upset. But mom, honestly and logically, told me that there were no lefty pianos so, why would she even think a lefty guitar existing?
OK, fair enough. So, for a year I tried to play righty. It just felt wrong. I couldn't do it.
So I sold the guitar to a righty friend and asked Mom for a LEFTY guitar for my 18th birthday.
She went back to Manny's (RIP) and bought me a LEFTY Guild accoustic guitar. Which I still have.

So, depending on your definition, one of those guitars was my first.

Love,
Todd

A turquoise Samick strat. Actually it's only a couple of feet away from me right now. My nice guitars are kept in my room, but I don't mind keeping this one elsewhere so that there's always something to pick up. Good feeling axe for a starter guitar.

My first guitar came in a Jam Pack. It was made by Peavey and it looked just like a strat except for the headstock design.

Mine was a MIB (that stands for Made in Bulgaria) Strat style guitar made by the communist state's company Kremona. It was the shittiest, nastiest, heaviest piece of junk but I loved it to bits and somehow I wish I still had it for the sentimental value.

I think I have a (black and white) photo of it somewhere though...

Yeah, it was great to start out on. I bought an American Standard 6-months later. I still play the MIM all the time too.
