Does anyone know where I can buy an allen wrench for a Standard (Mex)?

I seem to have lost the original one that came with it. :x

Or will Fender send a replacement?

I just went to a cheap hardware store and bought some standard hex wrenches.

I did as well, but they didn't have the size in the bundle I bought. Where did you buy yours from?

Local import hardware store. Look for .05 in. They worked for my american standard. But my friends mim used a 1/16th I think.

Just checked my 2001/2002 Mex STD w/bent steel saddles (stock). Takes a 1.5 mm hex. A .05 inch will strip the screws. A 1/16 inch will work IF it's a 'ball-end' type, but looks like it may break off the ball-end leaving you with an unuseable adjusting screw, and it costs quite a bit more than a regular straight end hex wrench.

My advice is to get the 1.5mm hex wrench.

Please do not raise the saddle height with full tension on the strings... only leads to trouble.

Ok cool, I've give that a try. I already tried both the 1/16 and .50 and neither worked. They were both too big or too small.

Exactly, same as my results... good luck, and that wrench should be cheap (less than $2) if you buy it as a single tool from your local hardware store depending on your locality.

For what it's worth, I recently got a tool kit called Cruztools GrooveTech. It's got an assortment of allen wrenches, plus everything else you need to do a setup. I find the allen wrench in this kit fits more securely than a lot of the others I've used. My guitars are MIA. I'm not sure if the sizing is different on the MIM instruments.
