yeah, exactly! I have the neck and bridge pups set that way. the middle is level (mainly because I hardly ever use it)

My pleasure! I set them that way for more punch on the bass end for blues. Gives power chords a bit more umph as well.

I set them to my ear. B pup for the treble, N pup for the bassier sounds, M pup to balance the others evenly with a nice 'quack' in the 2 & 4 positions. If you're looking for a 'set them at this height for - insert name here - sound', that will never work 'cos each player is different.

You might have included a 'None of the above' choice in your poll, that's what I would have chosen.

This is true. My 72 Strat has staggered pole pieces and requires a bit of tweaking.
