I wanted to post this pic. awhile ago, but the Biz had me out of town on a project.

The earlier part of September a member posted a Topic: Guitar Sound?!?!

Normally everyone added their input.
There was a picture someone posted with several Heads, Cabinets,Mics, etc. labeled: Stevie's "King Tone"

That's a lot of gear and I don't dispute that the gear pictured is SRV's. He had a collection.
I have seen him live on several occasions and don't recall that much gear. I have seen him play through a 50 watt combo as pictured and also a couple of Heads & Cabinets, on other occasions.

To get "Stevie's" sound you will have play like him and mimic his guitar habits- Touch,Feel,Technique,Style, etc.

Someone wrote that a Guitar Magazine stated- SRV used a 40 watt combo. Well, they weren't too far off.
Another person stated that "players ripping off Stevie's Strat and A Hat tone every hour of every day."
I don't believe this because there may be many musicians that sound similar to SRV by "ripping off" his style & technique, they don't play like him. His touch, feel, personal guitar habits, timing, etc.
Also Stevie's gear was constantly doctored. No one has been able to duplicate that.
SRV had a collection of guitars & gear-no doubt
No one mentioned his Carvin Rig. And everyone says...huh?
These are just my thoughts.
If you have any snide remarks or comments, please keep them to yourself. Thanks!!

I suspect that what we are looking at is the back of the Diaz modified Vibroverb of which the current Fender Vibroverb Custom is a product.
